Understanding tables

1. Definitions of tables

·       A table is an arrangement of data in rows and columns, or may be in a more complex structure.

·       Tables are widely used in communication, research, and data analysis.

·       Tables frequently appear in print, writing, computer software, ornate architecture, traffic signs, and so on.

2. Function of tables

·       Serves to provide a summary of information expressed by numbers.

·       By using tables one can easily find out the various changes (increase or decrease) that have taken place in a problem.
